Catch a Rainbow

If I could catch a rainbow,
I would do it just for you.
And share with you its beauty
On the days you're feeling blue.
If I could build a mountain
You could call your very own.
A place to find serenity,
A place to be alone.
If I could take your troubles,
I would toss them in the sea.
But all these things I'm finding
are impossible for me.
I cannot build a mountain
Or catch a rainbow fair.
But let me be what I know best
A friend that's always there

"Our Guardian Angels"

When angels sense you need them,
And angels always do.
They come, unseen, from everywhere,
To help and comfort you.
They hover close beside you,
Till all your cares are gone.
Till they can see you're ready,
Once again to carry on.
Then some of them fly away,
And take their gentle touch.
To other hearts that need the love,
Of angels very much.
But one, at least, stays with you,
As your constant friend and guide.
For guardian angels never leave,
They're always at your side.

THE POEM

I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.

So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees. All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.

No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.

I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.

God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down
But never found the time"

Faith in a Flower

Sometimes when faith is running low
And I cannot fathom why things are so
I walk alone among the flowers I grow
And learn the "answers" to all I would know!
For among my flowers I have come to see
Life's miracle and its mystery
And standing in silence and reverie
My faith comes flooding back to me!

Verbal Scars
There was a little boy with a bad temper.
His father gave him a bag of nails and told him
that every time he lost his temper, to hammer a
The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence.
Then it gradually dwindled down.
He discovered it was easier to hold his temper
than to drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all.
He told his father about it and the father suggested
that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that
he was able to hold his temper.

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to
tell his father that all the nails were gone.
The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence.
"You have done well, my son, but look at the
holes in the fence.
The fence will never be the same.

When you say things in anger,
they leave a scar just like this one.
You can put a knife in a man and draw it out,
it won't matter how many times you say 'I'm sorry,'
the wound is still there.
A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one."
