I'm thrilled with all this hate-mail that I've received, whether people hate Falsone, Hate Seda, or hate ME. Doesn't matter, it still gives me a big thrill every time.
Just for the record, I have nothing personal against Jon Seda himself, aside from cringing at his apparent lack of restraint in over-acting. I hate the character Falsone he plays on Homicide, not him personally.
As well, if you're on AOL, and a Seda/Falsone fan - prepare to have your letter not be taken too seriously - as it seems that one or two Seda fans on AOL have sent me 95% of the pro-Seda mail I have received.

i know HARDCORE homicide fans dont really like change, and i guess Falsone is

i'll tell you though, he is VERY good to look at and A LOT of people watch

what is wrong with you..Homicide is a great show..and it just go better since
they ADDED paul falsone to the show..he is one of the main reasons why i
watch it...it makes sense to have him because not all cops are the same and

After reading the updated Falsone Hate-Mail section, all I have to say
about the writer(s) who sent those pro-Falsone e-mails is that he (she)
is more full of crap than a stadium toilet, to quote Meldrick Lewis.
And to even imply that Kay Howard was a lesbian is as unimaginative and
banal an opinion as any recent script for NYPD Blue and Nash Bridges can
be. Obviously this person has no sense of what kind of brilliant show
Homicide was long before "Mr. Slick" started throwing his weight around,
and I doubt that the concept ever occurred to them.
But to be honest, I dispise the show's current pandering towards the
younger audience by creating more storylines involving hip and
attractive young people (i.e. Kellerman, Cox, Falsone, Ballard). They
might be what the network consider cool and popular, but they are by no
means REAL, and Falsone is NOT real. And worse, the older characters
are suffering because they don't have enough real people to interact
with. Without Crosetti's absent-minded philosophizing, Lewis has become
even more immature and sexist. Munch's sarcastic whining has little
effect without Bolander's verbal abuse in return, nor does Giardelo have
another hardened veteran to relate to. And Felton's absence left both
Howard without a partner to share with and Pembleton without a living
example of mediocrity for him to rise above, not to mention leaving
Russert nothing to work with after her affair with Beau. Last of all,
Bayliss's evolution from hopeless rookie to hardened detective had been
undermined by Kellerman's arrival as the "new guy", which made Bayliss a
veteran by default and not for his own merits.
Essentially, Homicide was already fucked up years ago when the group
dynamic of its ensemble cast was undermined by the loss of several key
players, added to which the overuse of techniques like music montages
and sensationalist storylines reduced the show's subtle realism to the
lowest common denominator of pretentiousness, all for the sake of
attracting a larger viewing audience that neither understood nor
appreciated what Homicide had to offer in any form. It only took the
arrival of turds like Falsone to make this decay obvious, and getting
rid of him or anyone else won't make any blind bit of difference when
the show itself is clinically dead. To quote the Big Man, nobody wants
to admit it, but everybody knows what really happened. Should we wipe
that clear, just for our own peace of mind? That's all I have to say.

Hey, ok...first of all, I would like to ask you why you don't like Jon Seda?
I can't personally say much because I don't watch Homicide that much, but I
have seen him in many other things, and I happen to think that he is a
talented actor. I don't understand why you have a web page putting him down.
I have seen him on Homicide, and I thought he was fine. It takes a whole
cast to make a show good, you can't say the show is bad because of one

Not only are there fans, but I started watching homicide BECAUSE of Jon Seda!
I think you old fans must be so emotionally involved with the old characters
that you can only hate Falsone for shaking things up. From my perspective he
has more integrity than these other detectives considering whaat happened and
that everyone covered it up...but I didn't watch last season so I am not so
emotionally involved in the hatred for this guy Lucas. Nevertheless, what
happened was wrong. Seda is a great actor though and I think your reactions
prove that!

Well it had to happen, a lone blittz writer (probably Sedas family or Agent)
is trying damage control. While we all realize that Seda as a person is
sperate from Falsone the charachter, lets be Frank...He is mis Cast in the
role. Maybe NBC wants a Falsone supercop show to replace the ensemble cast of
HLOTS next year, and are frocing this storyline on us. If I wanted to see a
Supercop Bad Actor I would watch Cheech Martin and Don Johnson on Nash
Bridges. My choice is to watch HLOTS. I only ask that NBC BALANCE the
stories as in the days of old.
For schloch story line and a true test of FZONEs range "OUR FINEST
DETECTIVES" (per Frank P on the Subway episode) Falsone and Meldrick wander
aimlessly around BMER and talk girl speak, now thats powerful acting!!
I Expect more from HLOTS last season or not. Dump the Greaseball

Thank god some others feel the same way! Before the sixth season, I
was without a doubt, one of the biggest 'Homicide' fans out there. I
was in love with the directing, writing, music, and most importantly
the cast. However, in one season everything has changed!!! The new
additions to the cast stink on ice! They are nothing like the veterans
from 'H:LOTS'. They are truly straight out of NYPD Blue. What were
Levinson and Fontana thinking?
To be fair, I don't think Falsone is any worse than the other new
characters, but the degree to which he is being shoved down our throats
is sickening! Even though most of the spectacular cast returned this
year (minus the always excellent Melissa Leo), the sixth season seems
to revolve around Falsone. WHAT IS THE DEAL? Even the reviewer at
Entertainment Weekly, whose opinion I usually deeply respect and agree
with, seems to have fallen in love with Jon Seda. To me, comparing
Falsone and Pembleton is a crime worse than homicide.
However, I don't want to exaggerate Jon Seda's importance (or lack
thereof) in 'Homicide'. I truly feel that there are many things wrong
with the show this season. The scripts are weak. The style and look
of the show has changed for the worse. Even the music is no longer
cool. I hate to say it, but I haven't even enjoyed Pembleton's
(smaller than usual) screen time this season. And where is (the always
spectacular, often underrated) Bayliss? Has he said more than three
sentences this season? It is truly a sad day.
P.S.
On a quick selfish note, I accidently missed the last episode
(December 5, 1997 - 'Subway') and the 'X-Files' episode with Belzer. I
would be more than willing to pay or trade for a copy. Thanks for

I don't have to time to make a Falsone web page, plus it's not like I love his
character the most. The only reason why I complain
is that Seda character isn't has bad as you claim him to be. But I do know
some Seda/Falsone web pages.
On another note...
I don't think that it is fair that you claim that all the Jon fans are his

On a side note, I should note, that I "publish" these notes in the order I receive them. Looking back, you may notice, that most of the pro-Falsone stuff comes in around the same time. I will literally open my mailbox to find all of it at once. The thought that these Falsone fans are not one person, but an organized effort, somehow doesn't make me feel safer at night!
