La`au Kanaha Kumamahiku....47th Plant
Koali, Morning Glory
Ipomoea congesta
Morning Glories are spread through-out tropical to warm temperate
areas worldwide. Many species of Genus Ipomoea are found wild
and cultivated in Hawaii, this particular entry being very common
as a wild plant in middle elevations of Hawaii. Ancient Hawaiians
used the vines to set broken bones, and for ceremonial rites.
