Orange Pound Cake
 
 
  • ½ cup shortening
  • ½ cup butter (don’t substitute)
  • 1 2/3 cups sugar
  • 5 Tbsp. Orange juice
  • 2 cups flour
  • 5 eggs
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • Cream the shortening, butter and sugar well. Add one egg at a time – beating well. Sift flour and salt. Add alternately with orange juice and vanilla. Pour into a tube pan. Bake at 325F degrees until done when tested with a toothpick or cake tester.
