Risa was a fighter, having survived ovarian cancer when she was twenty years old. She went on to work as a juvenile probation officer, helping teenage alcoholics and their parents. 

But her life ended because someone didn't know when to say when at a Halloween party. Risa, on her way home from helping a client (on her own time), was killed. The drunk driver sustained only minor injuries.
