Club Activities for the Lion Year 1998-1999


MONTHLY PROJECT
The club donates one sack of rice and one sack of corn estimated to cost around P1,700 to the FRIENDSHIP HOME ORPHANAGE in Valencia, Negros, Oriental.


July 1998
* Participated in the Nutri-Fit Walk for the benefit of Dumaguete's street children.


August 1998
* The club attended the 1st Cabinet Meeting and District Conference at Iloilo City.

* Screening of applicants for scholarship to 5 deserving but less fortunate 1st year college students at the Central Visayas Polytechnic College(CVPC).


September 1998


* Awarded scholarship worth P7,500 to 5 deserving but less fortunate students of CVPC.



* Participated in the City's Alay Lakad '98 with the Dumaguete City(Host) Lions Club and the Dumaguete Leo Club for the benefit of Dumaguete's Out of School Youth.


October 1998
* Contributed P5,000 for Dumaguete City's Sandurot Festival in connection with the City Fiesta.

* Participated in the Cleanliness Drive against Dengue.


November 1998


* Donated 1 set mobile radio with antenna to the City's Traffic Control Unit.This is a subsidiary of the street sign project, wherein the club donated street signs for the whole city for the implementation of the new traffic scheme under the Master Plan for Dumaguete City.


* Had a luncheon with Lion District Governor Emilio Capalla Jr. together with Lion Secretary Eden Tan and Lion Regional Chairman Estreras to discuss problems and possible projects.


December 1998



* Christmas Party at the FRIENDSHIP HOME ORPHANAGE at Valencia with the children. There were also games and gifts given to the children.


January 1999
* Meeting with PNP Col. Pepito Banzon and company to brief the club on the current situation of "DRUGS" in the city and the Province of Negros Oriental. The club also agreed on projects to assist them in their drive against "DRUGS".


February 1999


* Contributed P1,000 worth of diesel fuel to the Chinese Fire Brigade Volunteers.



* The Club participated in the 3rd Cabinet Meeting and District Convention in Cebu with the Dumaguete City(Host) Lions Club and the Dumaguete Leo Club.


March 1999



* Joined in the Habitat for humanities' Jimmy Carter Work Project by building a house for the Catina Family here in Bajumpandan, Dumaguete City. The club donated P10,000 aside from doing labor work/service from March 22-26,1999.



* Awarded P7,500 to 5 student scholars at CVPC for the 2nd semester of the school year 1998-1999 last March 31,1999.


* Donated P1,000 worth of diesel fuel to the Fire Brigade Volunteers.
