Berlin Airlift

A semi-trailer is backed into the Quartermaster
Depot outdoor storage area, where it is being loaded from a stockpile for an "operations air lift" run.  A
regular delivery schedule between Giessen
Quartermaster
Depot and
Rhein-Main
airport is being maintained 24 hours a day and will continue as long as it is
necessary to fly supplies to the western zones of Berlin.

Major Alfonso Hall QM officer, of San Antonio, Texas, directs
member of the 70th Trucking Company, Frankfurt; the 69th Trucking Company, Mannheim; and 68th Trucking, Giessen, in capacity
loading of semi-trailers.  Food stuffs being flown to Berlin have left the European Command Quartermaster Depot at the rate of 400 and 500 tons daily since the "operations airlift!" began.  A regular delivery schedule between Rhein-Main airport is maintained 24 hours.
