A group of Berlin children try to express their
appreciation to Lt. Gail S. Halvorsen, the originator of
"Operation Little Vittles," for the thousands
of packages of gum and candy he and his friends have dropped over Berlin in tiny parachutes.
1st Lt. Donald W. Measley of Hampton, New Jersey, and the
54th Troop Carrier Squadron, who
completed 40 supply
missions to Berlin on Airlift
Task Force in a C-54, is presented with a bouquet of flowers in
appreciation by nine-year old
Suzanna Joks of Berlin.
