Amateur Telescope Making
and Astronomy
Comet Hale-Bopp
I have a tendency to pick up a lot of hobbies. For the last few years,
I have been making a telescope. It is a 12 1/2 inch Newtonian with a alt-az
Dobsonian mount. The web has been a tremendous asset to ATM'ers, allowing
us to share what we have learned, and to compare scopes, mounts, and work
methods. I have some pix of the parts of the scope, and as I progress,
I will post more, along with notes. Here also my web pages diverge from
the usual layout. Construction of amateur telescopes is a real special
interest type activity, so the links below are a side trip instead of part
of the linear tour.
