PAREIDOLIA is...

...the innate human characteristic of seeing something in something else. (you know, the man in the moon, faces on Mars, Elvis in a potato chip, and sundry odd things that couldn't possibly REALLY be there... or could they?)

This is a little assortment of my hundreds, no, thousands of images. Some are polaroids, others paint, others color removed from fabric. One amazing thing about the fabrics is that no matter close or far the zoom, pictures are visible within other pictures. For those interested these pictures and more are available in a variety of prints and cards. Inquire for details.

Oh, by the way... they can see you... yeah, now. Come back soon, more images coming

"SHE" IS WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
This is the very first piece of textile imagery I ever produced.
(1998, color discharge on magenta satin, outside dimensions 4"x7")

What strikes me most about this image is how, well... remote, I guess ...her expression is.(I hope this comes through in the scan!)
In her face I see someone utterly removed from the cares of this world, but her eyes reflect such a "history" of things seen and felt. She seems to me conscious of being observed, and to not care anything of it. She is completely beyond this world, both ancient and timeless, and no longer feels any curiosity whatever anymore - all that is expressed on her face is "having seen". I wish she wondered about me the way I wonder about her. In me she evokes both envy, and pity (for her or myself I'm not sure). This is a really special piece.

Close-ups from a really magnificent black and gold satin piece
that measures over 5 feet by 6 feet. These are pictures of approx. 6" bits of it.

This is a scan from an 11x14 piece entitled "Hunt for the Green Lion"
