NAKED!!!

Yes....if you're not cautious, your young ones might be exposed to images like this!! Seething with lust and nudity. Pictured above, of course, is "The Union Of Heaven & Earth", painted in 1618 by the renowned Flemish painter, Peter Paul Rubens. The painting hangs in the Hermitage, in St. Petersburg.

Obviously you're not got to keep nudity from your children. To do so would mean locking up every Art Museum in the world, and keeping great works of art out of sight. And also, out of mind, and out the human heart and the human sprit as well. The key is of course YOUR involvement in their guidance and growth. Nudity is NOT obscenity. Nor does it imply salacious conduct or behavior. Consider the following example:

A young woman, reclining on her sofa. Hmmmm.... I fail to see what's obscene about this. I suppose you might not want someone under the age of 12 or 13 to see this, but in and of itself, it is a rather innocuous image. Quite a contrast to the lustiness of Rubens. In fact, in viewing this picture, one almost feels that one is invading her privacy by looking at her, relaxing on her sofa after a hard day of work or school.

Many times, a lot of what we see is not within the image, but within our own mind.

Let me show you what I mean..... For example, what if I all of a sudden told you that this nude reclining on her sofa is actually a junior high school girl. That her name is Kino Makoto, and she is 14 years old, and is also known as Sailor Jupiter. AND she is regularly seen on the animated TV show SAILOR MOON, which is currently televised on the USA Network. I tell you that, and all of a sudden your HORROR alarms go off, and you have this knee-jerk reaction.....and all of a sudden a reasonably innocent work of art is transformed miraculously into child pornography.

You SEE how a few simple words, be they true or not, can change how we view the world? Think about it for a minute.

Then think about the last time you told your children that you love them, no matter what. Think about how THAT would simple act can make the world a better place.

Now, go and do it Go hug your children, and tell them how much you love them. That is, if you're at all serious about making the world a better place.
