Welcome
to the

Celebration of Motherhood

I started this celebration as a place to honor all mothers. With two blessed children of my own I find each day brings a new reward to my heart. I give this venue to mothers everywhere as a place to read and enjoy and share your experiences with other moms.

This is YOUR celebration. I encourage you to express yourself and share your happiness as a mother. You are invited to submityour story, poem, anecdote, joke, favorite saying, or photos. Other people's writings may also be submitted if you give reference to the author source All submissions will be proof read for content and to make sure it follows my overall parenting philosophies. In general, just think "attachment parenting" and you should be okay.

Morning Time

The sun is rising yet you linger. Stillness surounds us yet my heart flutters with love for you. I watch you lie there breathing softly--what are you dreaming? The sweet aroma of your breath touches me and surrounds me with the love that started the moment you were born. How tiny your lips are...funny how they crinkle up when you sleep. Your lashes close over the bluest eyes I've seen. Eyes of wonder and merriment and innocence. What are you dreaming? The sun is rising and its gentle rays lighten your blonde hair till it glimmers. God puts this wondrous halo around you each and every morning, reminding me of the blessing you are to me. We need to get up and start the day but I don't want to end your dream. So I snuggle up to you for a little while longer and enjoy you...in the morning.

MOMMY
The world surrounds me ...
I do not know it yet.
I only know of the warmth and serenity
that makes up my whole environment.
Gentle movement rocks me to calmness.
I hear a distant voice echoing
--will I ever find the source?
Sometimes I can hear a silent melody in the darkness that I live in.
The space seems to be enclosing me
or maybe I am growing.. I am not sure
but full of life.
I have already learned the rhythms
of my mommy.. but I do not know her yet.
Only a few more hours till I am born...
I am coming soon, mommy!
