Turks and Caicos Islands

In July 1998, we spent a week on the Sea Dancer live-aboard dive boat in the Turks and Caicos Islands (Between the Bahamas and Dominican Republic). The Sea Dancer carries 18 passengers and six crew. Service is excellent and the diving is spectacular.

The Sea Dancer, the first in the Peter Hughes fleet of live-aboards, is 110'. Accomodations are comfortable, food is good, crew is great.
My dive buddy silhouetted behind a stand of coral.
Unlikely marriage: This Trumpetfish and Flounder were inseperable. They swam in exactly this position everywhere they went, every time we saw them.
Below, a typical Southern Ray, plentiful in T&C.
We saw up to three sharks per dive, including this Nurse Shark, up close and personal.

This shot of a giant Leatherback Sea Turtle was taken by renouned amateur underwater photographer Jim Jones.
A Black-Tipped Reef Shark, below. Friendly or hungry? He followed us all day. Quite ominous looking during a night dive, coming out of the blackness toward you.

Michael (below), the ship's photography instructor. They rent underwater cameras and give lessons.
Sunset on the Caribbean. Doesn't get any better than this!
