The Forgotten
Tossed aside and cast about
thrown in circles and torn apart
The myst hangs low and thick
over the sea
I cannot see it
but acknowledge it is there
A warrior of life
I have coquered peoples
and lands, far and near
Across fjords and
sea and moutain
have I traveled
My soul ripped, torn,
and shredded by
the Maelstrom of existence
Loves gained
and lost, and torn asunder
by lust
My soul seeks only,
the land of its' birth
To be re-united with the beauty
of the home only my soul remembers
Searching, looking
lost in time, this land forgotten
To return to it
is my soul's only wish
That land of beauty
of green dale,
and ice covered mountain
of myst covered forest,
and swift running fjord
The land where my ancestor's
strong and fierce
shed there blood in battles
both savage and honorable
Making the soil fertile
with their blood,
the blood of courage,
their sacrifice to our Earth mother
and to us.
Axes cleaving, swords swinging,
how vicous and sweet the battles were
Watching the Valkyrie,
swoop down from the heavens above
to save the souls of many a fallen warrior
With such grace and ease
did they fly, these guardian angels
of our warriors
Now lost at sea in this hollow,
shell of a ship
Which carries my soul,
on it's walkabout through the Maelstrom
It's hull being torn asunder
by lifes hardship's
Seeking a place to land softly
upon some sand covered beach
So as to ease the pain of my
love torn shell
Ah, if only to return to the woman,
with whom I have traveled so many lifetimes with
She would have me.
But would she be true?
This maelstrom has torn me
Can she repair that which has been nearly destroyed?
The cries of fierce battle,
never far off in the distance for me
Can she silence them?
Or would she destroy this shell of a man,
which lay before her,
at her mercy?
The pain of which I could not bare.
Oh sweet Valkyrie,
swoop down with all your gace and fierce beauty.
And rescue Oden's last forgotten warrior.
Take me away from this sweet pain.
Allow me my birthright,
give unto me that which I have fought a millenia
to recieve.
