This mandolin might have been built by C. F. Martin, because Bruno did sell mandolins made by Martin under his name. Martin and Bruno were friends and business associates. Bruno bought Martin's storefront property when Martin moved to Pennsylvania. The body of finest ivory bound Brazilian rosewood, 33 fluted ribs interspersed with maple stripes (slight separation of 4 cm, only visable with strong light), spruce top with unrepaired cracks 13 cm and 3 cm, tortoise shell scratch plate extending around the soundhole and decorated with mother of pearl flower ornaments, ivory bound extented ebony fingerboard with mother-of pearl inlays with small hairline crack and well worn original frets, ivory bound headstock with floral mother-of-pearl decorations in front and back, fancy goldplated machine heads with mother-of-pearl tuners, mahogany neck with a slightly curve. Original ebony bridge with ivory saddle, ivory nut, metal string cover.
