Technical Training Centre
The technical training institute at Bangalore was established in 1982.
It provides 2 year training courses in basic general mechanic trade(fitters
trade). The course is approved by Govt of India and affiliated to the State
Council for Vocational Training, and the syllabus is the same as for sighted
students according to the Government ITI course (except engineering drawing).
The lab course involves drilling, cutting and lathe machines. This course
is free and NAB provides free boarding and lodging facilities for the trainees.
Free uniforms are also provided for the trainees.
The NAB Industrial Center at Mysore was established in 1989 and provides
the above training.
The total number of visually handicapped trained upto 31 March, 1999
in Bangalore is 124 and in Mysore is 102.
35 hearing impaired and mute persons were also trained in Mysore.
