Pootie Tang
Louis CK's second full length feature film "Pootie Tang" looks as if it may actually be released. The movie stars Chris Rock as Pootie. Congratulations to Louis.
On a related note, stop by Louis' site, www.louisck.com and pick up a copy of his short films dvd, especially if you like Amy Pohellar from the UCB, Todd Barry, Robert Smigel, Late Night head writer Mike Sweeney, and the man himself, Louis CK. You won't be sorry that you did.
Andy Richter in Scary Movie 2
Andy has a small cameo role in the Wayans brothers' new feature length film "Scary Movie 2" which opens in theatres everywhere July 4. He plays the young priest in the parody of the popular 1970's horror flick "the Exorcist."
Celebrity Production Companies
Well well well.... look who finally has his own production company! Conanco, Conan O'Brien's television production company is up and running, producing a reality show for NBC next season entitled "Lost." For more details, consult the company's website: www.conanco.com
"Anything Can Happen"
Everyone's favorite couch potato, Andy Richter, apparently has a new gig. He'll be starring in the new Fox sitcom "Anything Can Happen" as a single guy with a vivid fantasy life. We all wish him luck with his new project, and hope he'll be on Late Night soon to promote.
We're Number 4! We're Number 4!
Lycos, and Yahoo notified me today that my website is now ranked number four on the net of Late Night with Conan O'Brien fan sites. Thanks everyone!
The Wait May Finally Be Over
As of today, January 22, 2001, it has been said that our very own Conan O'Brien will return to his roots and host the long running and ever popular Saturday Night Live. If the rumors are true, it will be Conan's first time back with the SNL cast and crew since he left the show for The Simpsons in 1991. Welcome home, Conan :)
What the Hell? I'm in a Movie!!
New Line Cinema presents "Sugar and Spice," the movie about 5 cheerleader buddies who rob a bank. Maybe you've heard of it? What I bet you haven't heard, though, is that one of the main characters (shown above), Cleo, has a deathly obsession with my personal favorite talk show host, Mr. Conan O'Brien who's name is spelled wrong on the official web site. I don't know if you want to waste your money going to see it, but I'm going to. Hey, one of it's characters is insipred by me!
Good Luck, Smigel!!
Rob Smigel, former Late Night head writer and Clutch Cargo king, has his very own TV show on Comedy Central, after having totally conqured NBC. The show is entitled "TV Funhouse" after his cartoon segments on SNL, and features such characters and bits as Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Clutch Cargo, and a few new ones to boot.
Ah, the Magic of Internet Gossip
No, Late Night was not Cancelled. People have been asking me about this, and I assure you, it's not true! It all started with the cancellations of NBC career traps "Later" and "Friday Night." A rumor started on AFCOB saying that Conan had been cancelled too... if you haven't visited Damone's site (http://www.idt.net/~damone/gconan.html) lately, then you haven't heard that this is, in fact, just a rumor.
Farewell to an Old Friend
As of May 26, 2000, after winning his first and only stairing contest Andy Richter, the show's sidekick left for good. An emotional goodbye from Conan wished Andy luck. Where ever Andy decides to go, or whatever he decides to do, he has the support of all fans of Late Night and we wish him well in the future.
