Andy Richter, Sidekick Extrordinaire

Andy Richter was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and grew up in Yorkville, Illinois. Before Late Night's premire in 1993, Andy appeared in The Real Live Brady Bunch, where he played Mike Brady. He has also performed with various Chicago-based improvisational groups. Andy attended the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign and Columbia College, where he studied film and video. In July 1997, Richer performed in Incident at Cobblers Knob, a play by Amy and David Sedaris at the 1997 Lincoln Center Festival. In February 1993, Richter appeared in Chris Elliott's feature film, Cabin Boy. Richter and the Late Night writing team were nominated for the 1996 Emmy Award for Best Writing in a Comedy or Variety Series, and won the 1997 Writer's Guild Award for Best Writing. These days, Andy Richter can be seen alongside our favorite redhead, Conan O'Brien on Late Night. King of the couch!!

If you've been hiding under a rock for the last 9 months, then you don't know that our beloved Andy has left the show. His last day was Friday, May 26. I along with Conan himself and many other fans cried as we wished him a fond fairwell, and good luck in the future of showbusiness. We'll miss you, old pal.

Andy Richter lives in New York City with his wife, actress Sarah Thyre. She's crazy with a capitol K!
