PROFILE
Back up guard Ray Gordon has been with the club since their inception in 1984, (except for a two year stint with the Giants in 1987-88). Ray was always considered a defensive player up until 1992 when he started increasing his scoring and landing his trademark three point bomb. Ray Gordon has often been diagnosed with a severe case of 'white line fever', but Ray prefers to think of himself as a nice quiet guy off the court and a tough competitor on the court. But Ray does get a little crazy at times and never backs away from a challenge, be it talking trash or squaring off with someone, he will do anything for his team. He is only 190cm so he needs to work hard, and he does. He is a gym rat and he also lives in the weight room. He only really started stepping up his scoring in 1995, his combined average for the three previous years was only 2.7ppg. He loves playing basketball and puts everything in to it. And when the Tigers won their 1997 championship Ray was the happiest player there. He could hardly contain his excitment, climbing on top of the ring and kissing his team mates. But thats the sort of player Gordon is.
