PROFILE
Martin Cattalini is entering his sixth NBL season in 1998 and it looks like being his best. He has improved ever year he has been in the league and he has become a key player of the bench for the Adelaide 36ers. Cattalini started his NBL career with the Perth Wildcats in 1993 where he played in 19 games and averaged 3.3ppg. In his second NBL season he played in all 24 of the Wildats games and he increased his scoring output to 7.8ppg. He was a free agent in the 1994 off season and unwanted by the Wildcats. It didn't take long for the Adelaide 36ers to snap up cattalini. He added much needed depth to the 36ers bench. He was a good contributer of the bench for the sixers and in 1996 he had another steady season for the sixers. In 1997 he had one of his best games in the NBL. Against the red hot Melbourne Tigers in the midst of their record setting winning streak, Cattalini staged a one man comeback and nearly forced the game into overtime. Cattalini is described as an athletic 3/4 with an improving outside shot, he can score down low and run the floor.
