THE WORST (BEST) DIRECTOR OF ALL TIME.

EDWARD D. WOOD, JR. - Born October 10th, 1924 in Poughkeepsie, New York, the title subject of this documentary enlisted in World War II, then came to Hollywood in 1947. Along with his collaborators, Ed Wood was one of the first true independent filmmakers to emerge after the Consent Decree of 1948, which broke the monopoly of the major studios' ownership of movie theaters. Ed Wood speaks for the first time in this film about his experiences making "Glen or Glenda?" and "Plan 9 From Outer Space", and his friendship with Bela Lugosi. A true artist or a con artist? A charlatan or the Orson Welles of low budget pictures? You decide.
Edward d.wood jr. kept struggling in Hollywood but mainstream success eluded him. After a slow descent into alcoholism and monster nudie films. He died in 1978 at the age of 54,two years later ed was voted worst director of all time. Bringing him worldwide acclaim and a new generation of fans.
