A Recent RiderCourse graduate summed up his experience :

"If you can concentrate, follow directions, and trust your instructors, not only will you be doing maneuvers which you would have considered impossible before, but you will be doing them in the safest manner posible. Straight-line riding, stopping, shifting, cornering, weaving, turning and swerving. All the essentials are covered. Bikes and helmets are provided. You get 12-14 hours on the bike, 7-8 in class, and if you pass, a waiver on the regular NJMV test. When I, an office worker in my 50s, enrolled in the course I could barely ride a bicycle. Now, while I am not quite ready for bike racing, I think I can ride a bike more safely than many "old-time" riders. For $200 it is the greatest bargain in motorcycle education."

A UNIQUE RIDING EXPERIENCE

Operating a motorcycle for men and women of all ages is a fun means of transportation and recreation. Riding a motorcycle requires special skills and concentration. Although you can learn to ride a motorcycle on your own, trial and error can be a tough teacher.

More than 90 percent of the riders involved in crashes are self taught or learned from family and friends. This is why New Jersey Garden State Motorcycle Education offers motorcycle rider education courses for new and experienced riders. The courses teach the participants the special techniques, skills and mental strategies necessary for surviving in traffic.

Over 30-thousand people have learned to ride a motorcycle through the Motorcycle Safety Program. The curriculums used in the courses were designed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF). The MSF is a national, nonprofit organization sponsored by the U.S. distributors of Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha, BMW and Harley Davidson motorcycles. This is your personal invitation to join the alumni ranks of the over 1 million graduates across the country who have completed these motorcycle rider courses. Why join? The basic course , the Motorcycle RiderCourse-Riding and Street Skills MRC:RSS, is for the new or inexperienced rider.

The MRC:RSS is scheduled from April through November. Training motorcycles and helmets are provided.

The Experienced RiderCourse , ERC, reinforces the skills of seasoned riders using their own motorcycles.
