JAMES STAGE

1774-1866

Frank Stage, Mary Moon Stage, Ada Hamilton Stage
Daughters Marion Stage Packer & Frances Stage Sampson.
Akron NY 1909.
The Stage name has several variations. I have found the spelling in the same families to be different. Such as STAGG, SAGE, STEIGE, STEEGE and even HEK and HAGMAN. I believe it to be English, but the families immigrated into the Dutch Colonies in America. The pronouncation and spelling probably depended on who could read and/or write and who and/or how they spoke.

I am would like to connect James Stage to Peter Stage (1764-1842) who died in Stafford, Genesee Co., NY. The name was originally STAGG. They both lived in the same area of Genesee and Erie Co.'s, NY in the same time period.
