President's Message :
As winter slowly turns into spring, we have a few things that are upcoming in the near future.  First is the annual Law Enforcement Memorial Day Ceremonies that are held in Washington, DC.  For those of us who cannot attend the ceremonies, take a moment or two that day to keep the memory of our fallen brothers and sisters and their families.  Fly your flag at half mast or wear a blue ribbon in honor of the fallen cops.  The Lodge even has bumper stickers available to remind people to remember May 15.

Rockland County is hosting a Memorial Ceremony at their monument in New City opposite the Court House.  Ceremonies start with a continental breakfast at 8:30 am at the Police Headquarters.  If you plan to attend, please attend either in uniform or a suit & tie.

We will have more information about the softball tournament at the meeting on May 10 at the American Legion in Monroe.

Lastly, please keep the family of Sgt. Christopher Riso, NYPD, and fellow Lodge member who passed away on April 17th after a serious illness, in your prayers.

Remember, Stay Safe and Wear Your Vest.

Christopher J. Riso
May 2, 1960 - April 17, 1999

Sergeant Christopher J. Riso, NYPD and fellow Lodge member, was assigned to the 20th Pct. in the Upper West Side of Manhattan after his recent promotion to Sergeant.  Prior to being promoted, he spent 8 years at the New York City Police Academy Firearms & Tactics Section, Outdoor Range at Rodman's Neck in the Bronx.  He was married to Mary A. Broderick and together they produced two children, Christopher Riso, 13, and Michele Riso, 11, and moved to Goshen to raise their family.  After a short but valiant battle with cancer, Chris Riso succumbed to his illness and passed away on April 17 at his home with his family by his side.  Chris Riso was known and loved by many and will be missed by many.  Our deepest heartfelt condolences go out to his family, especially his wife Mary and their two children Christopher and Michele.
