HAPPINESS IS

Don't want people to think that all my experiences were bad or unhappy so I'm going to tell of a very happy time, with a group of really great kids and parents to go with them.

People have been telling me for years, don't get to close, you can't get emotional, don't ever get personally involved. Well I guess I don't listen very well because I'm guilty of all of the above. These and many of the kids I will be telling about taught me how to care, to love, and yes, how to also get emotional, and I will forever be grateful for the lessons I've learned.

What started with driving, went to the classroom, then into the homes to baby-sit. Never did I dream I could get so much for so little. I always believed that on the bus was the start of their day and how it went with me was going to determine how there day would continue. So I kept books, some little toys, lots of smiles, good music, I would take pictures of each of the kids and hang them in the bus where they could see them, they loved everything I did and they showed it just in the way they boarded my bus. The parents were great, they knew how I treated their kids, and they told me time and time again how happy they were. I think what I'm trying to get across here is that whatever the handicap, these kids are very caring, and giving, and with no strings they give of themselves and do not expect much in return. So I gave them lots of love, hugs and a safe ride to and from school. You see those people that tell you not to get involved emotionally, never tell you how!
