I Am Not There

Do not stand at my grave and weep;

I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn's rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush,

I am the swift uplifting rush

of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry;

I am not there, I did not die.

Back Home Bird

I don't remember the Home Birds Song

Because I've been away too long

I'm getting accustomed to the race

Learning to live at the big city pace

But when my mind stops to rest

My heart drifts back to the town I like best

But I can't remember the Home Birds Song

Because my friend, I've been gone too long

I plan to go back there some day

See my old friends, hope I can stay

Do all the things for which my heart longs

And listen once more to the Home Birds Song

PAGE DEDICATION

In Memory of

Alvin J. "Butch" Harris Jr.

Please don't cry for me because I had to leave,

I know it was sooner then we planned

Please don't be sad as I know you are

We had many years please remember the good times

I know things were rough at times

But know that I will always love you,

As I know you loved me too…

I know you think I left too soon,

I wish I could have stayed..

I know you tried your best for me

And tried to help me stay,

It was time for me, and not for you so please go on!

Don't stop living because I'm gone

There was nothing you could do

I will always love you but for now

I hope I live within your heart

Until we meet again.
