What is Alcoholics Anonymous?
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization, or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

This page is meant to...

  1. Be a guide to AA and recovery pages.
  2. Be a guide to other resources pertaining to AA and recovery.
  3. Supply some general information about AA.
  4. Be a 'clearing house' for meeting schedules on the internet.

A note from Nat.That's right - Nat H. A lot of you know that SoberSpace is the result of unthinkable hours of painstaking labor by Eric J., one very talented and dedicated individual who was determined to "Pass it on". But time passes and changes develop in spite of us. Eric no longer has the time it takes to properly maintain the many links to recovery at this site. It's my turn.
I hope to get a lot of email from all of you, as I have had to remove a lot of dead links (That's where you click on a link and don't go where you expect to), that means there are many good onlined recovery sites that no longer are linked here. So:
If you know of a good recovery site that should be listed here, but is not, PLEASE - let me know about it by email. Thank you, Nat H. (click here to email me)

DISCLAIMER 1: These pages are in no way an attempt to attract people to, or advertise AA. The intent here is not to violate the eleventh tradition (attraction v. promotion). I simply think that people who use their computers and the Internet to find information should find AA as accessible here as in the rest of the world.

DISCLAIMER 2: Being mentioned on these pages does not necessarily mean something that is "sponsored" or endorsed by AA as such. These pages are not officially endorsed by AA World Services. For official info about AA, see the Official AA World Services Page.

DISCLAIMER 3: These pages are a work in progress, which I update as often as time allows. Please email me at nhoop@centurytel.net if you have any questions, comments, additions, or subtractions. I have not necessarily visited all of the sites and resources listed, so therefore I cannot attest to their content, value, or even (sometimes) existence. If you find something that you think needs correcting, let me know and I'll do what I can to fix it.

Don't drink and drive.
