Steamed Pudding

Beat egg & then stir in the molasses, butter(or oil)& vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with the water. Fold in berries. Put into mold and steam for two hours. This is the sauce that goes with the pudding

Brown sugar sauce

Bring ingredients to a simmer until it begins to thicken, then immediately remove from heat. Allow to cool a little before using.

Tea buns

Sift together dry ingredients. With a pastry blender cut in finely the shortening add the milk. Stir with fork to make a soft dough. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surfaceand knead gently 8-10 times, roll or pat to desired thickness(buns will double in height when baked) Cut with a round, floured 1 3/4 inch cookie cutter. Place buns on ungreased baking sheet close together. Bake in preheated 425 degree oven for 12-15 minutes. Makes 20 buns.
