The voices of Old Testament Prophets and Psalmists, waiting...

(A litany for Christmas Eve)

Voice 1:
I pray to you, O Lord; you hear my voice in the morning; at sunrise I offer my prayer and wait for your answer. (Ps 5:3)

Voice 2:

I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the
Lord. (Ps 27:13,14)

Voice 1:
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him. Wait for the Lord and keep his way. (Ps 37:7,34)

Voice 2:
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. (Ps 130:5,6)

Voice 1:
The Lord longs to be gracious to you; he is eager to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait on Him ! (Is 30:18)

Voice 2:
My righteousness draws near speedily, My salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope. (Is 51:5)

Voice 1:
The Lord is good to those who hope in Him, to those who seek Him. It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. (Lam 3:25,26)
