My friend and co-worker, Daisy, found me in the pit at Universal Studios before the Duran Duran Medazzaland concert December 9, 1997. We tried to get Nick's keyboards in the photo behind us, but it just didn't work out.

It was after this concert that, by a stroke of amazing luck, I found myself backstage in the private party talking with Nick Rhodes. Little did I know that in just a few more months, I would be filming his childhood friend, John, on a street in Venice Beach.

This was taken by Margaret while we were standing in line for the Tower Records show. This was the first time I would see Duran Duran live. Before this, I'd only seen Andy Taylor at House Of Blues in Power Station the month before. (And touched his leg...oh, my!)

Again, little did I know what was in store for the kid from Oklahoma...
