Celts run out easy winners

A touch of deja-vu about the game on Saturday. A five nil win on a dreadful riverbank pitch with grimy industrial suburban Tokyo serving as a backdrop. Although Sumida Shitamachi were a weaker side than Stoneds, this was nonetheless a solid performance by the Celts with some outstanding individual performances from Mullane and newcomer Castles.
Despite our dominance of the opening thirty minutes, it was evident that players had Singapore on their minds as shot after shot was greeted by fine point boy. After thirty five minutes, we decided to test the keeper, and Dolan finished well from a cross by Mehigan. One nil. Five minutes later, Burke, benefited from O Keeffes mishit shot and gave the keeper no chance to leave the score two nil to the Celts at half time.
Second half saw Sumida trying to make a game out of it but their keeper wasnt around for their half team talk and sauntered up to the halfway line before being dispossessed by Dermody. The ball fell for OKeeffe and a speculative shot almost crossed the line before the ginger pubed twat kicked it in to claim his goal scoring bonus. Guilty about his greed, he then turned provider by delightfully Johan Cryuffing his defender and laying on a goal for Mehigan. Four Nil.
Sumida came close a couple of times but Dave in-the-box, sprang like a lynx to thwart their efforts. He also managed to thwart Joes efforts to receive possession from kick outs.
With ten minutes to go, our softly spoken, taciturn centre half, Peter Whine, claimed his first goal for the Celts with a well placed drive into the bottom right hand corner of the net. Indeed, he came close to grabbing a second before the final whistle sounded. 5-O to the Celts and a useful exercise before taking on BallySwiss Kickhams on Saturday.
Someone said there was a penalty miss but, as Reagan said, I do not recall.
