Chapter 20

"I can't believe we're in the air, in the plane, taking us to Tulsa." Simone said four hours later. Taylor tightened his grasp around her hand.

"Me either." he said. Their eyes locked. "I love you."

"I love you more." Simone said, smiling evilly.

"Uh huh. Prove it." She kissed his lips.

"Ok, enough publicity. No more until we are in the safety of your own house."

While on the plane, Simone couldn't help it. She was tired and fell asleep, her head resting on Taylor's shoulder. She thought to herself that his shoulder felt like it was made especially for her head to rest on. It felt perfect. When she woke up, she almost forgot where she was or who she was with. Then she looked around and saw Taylor, already looking down at her. He smiled.

"What time is it?" she asked him. He glanced down at his watch.

"Almost 2:00." he replied.

"I have to go to the bathroom." she said, taking off her seat belt and standing up. She shut the door behind her, then pulled out the little pink packet from her back pocket. She took one of the oval shaped pills out and swallowed it. She couldn't believe that she had forgotten to take it this morning! With all the comotion going on with her mom, the whole arguement, it made her totally forget to take her birth control pill. And what else made her mad was that she was thinking about it when she was furious with her mother. She looked at her reflection in the mirror before returning to her seat. She mentally noted that her hair was getting a little long.

She sat back down next to Taylor, who only smiled.

"What?" she asked him.

"I just can't believe that you are coming home with me. Going on the rest of the tour with us. We are going to have a lot of fun."

Simone smiled. "I hope so."

"We will, trust me." Taylor assured her.

The plane landed about 45 minutes later. They hurried through the airport, to the luggage claim, hailed down a cab and were soon on their way to the Hanson household. When they finally reached it, Taylor held Simone's hand as they walked to the door. He rang the doorbell because it was usually kept locked. Isaac opened the door and held an extremely surprised look on his face.

"Tay! What are you doing back so early?" was the first thing he said.

"What? Are you surprised or just disappointed to see me?"

"Well, its not that, its just that, wow, you're early." Isaac said.

"Yeah, plans change. We're early. When were we going to be going back on tour?" Tay asked.

"Um, I think Monday." Ike said, closing the door behind them.

"Taylor! You're here?" Simone heard his mom exclaim from the kitchen. "Is everything all right with you and Simone? You didn't have a fight, did you?" Then his mom walked into the living room and saw Simone sitting on the couch. "Oh, good, there wasn't any fight. But you guys are back so early! We weren't expecting you to be here until Sunday."

"Mom, things were going on back at Simone's house, and we just came early. No special reason." Taylor said, sitting next to Simone on the couch. Mrs. Hanson smiled.

"Well, welcome to our home, Simone. Taylor, where's your manners? Show her around. I am sure that she would like to see your room or maybe the treehouse perhaps?" she demanded, causing Simone to laugh.

"Would the lovely Miss Reid like to have the grand tour of the Hanson house?" Taylor asked Simone in his best French accent. He bowed in front of her sitting on the couch, then reached down, took her hand in his, and pulled it to his lips. He gently kissed it, then smiled. "Ever since I saw that on Titanic, I've wanted to do it."

Simone laughed again, loving the way that Taylor was acting. There was something in his eyes every time that he looked at her. She loved the way that they were sparkling. There was something about them that were different when he was around his family and with her at the same time. She didn't know what it was, but she was sure that it wasn't anything to worry about because she loved him and he loved her. That's all that mattered. Even if he did act a little different around his family members.

He didn't care who was around when he kissed her. Even little Mackie eye-witnessed his older brother locking lips with Simone. He stuck his tongue out at both of them, then turned and ran away in the opposite direction. Simone laughed. She liked the way that every member of the Hanson family could make her smile and laugh with the tiniest effort put forth. There was something special with this family, and whatever it was, she was glad it was there, because without it, then she didn't think that she would be there at that very moment.

After the "grand tour" was over, Taylor and Simone cut loose on the back porch, relaxing on the porch swing. She was resting her head on his shoulder and they watched the stars appear in the night sky. Crickets began to chirp loudly and then there was a few specks of lightning bugs flashing in the distance. Simone sighed and breathed in the scent of Taylor. She loved him.

"Tay?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you think that my mom is angry with me for leaving?" she asked. As if it was supposed to happen, they both heard the phone ring inside the house. Simone sat up, startled and tense. Diana came to the back porch and handed Taylor the portable phone.

"It's for Simone. Her mother." she said, then shut the door quietly. Simone took a deep breath before putting the recevier to her ear. Expecting to get yelled at, she heard her mother's sad crying sobs on the other end of the line.

"Mom! What's wrong?" Simone choked out, feeling tears in her own eyes. Her mother very seldom cried and when she did, it was for a good reason.

"Oh Simone! Please don't hate me!" her mother pleaded with her. She was confused.

"Hate you? Mom, what are you talking about?"

"You know that I never wanted you to get mad at me for telling you that I didn't want you to go back to Tulsa. I should have never said that. It was horribly awful of me, wasn't it?"

"I know, Mom."

"Simone, please come home. Don't stay there too long. I am going to miss you terribly." her mother begged.

"Mom, you know that I am going to stay with them and travel with them until the tour is over. I told you that I would be home before the summer is over, didn't I?" Simone could not believe that she was actually hearing her mother apologize.

"I was wrong to try and take that trip away from you. You must really like him a lot to go that far and leave today."

"I do Mom, I do a lot. More than a lot." she said. She heard her mom sigh.

"I knew it. You're in love. And I love you. Sim, come home soon."

"After the tour mom. I'll be home the day after the last date. I promise. And I'll call you all the time." Simone promised. She didn't think that her mom was going to be this bad.

"Alright, see you soon, honey." her mom said, then hung up the phone. Simone set the phone down next to her on the swing.

"Woah, that was not what I was expecting to hear."

The first show with Simone had gone very smoothly. The concert was great, and Simone then realized something. While everyone was backstage, all the family, all the security, all the lucky fans with backstage passes, she realized that Taylor loved her. Even tho she had heard him say it X amount of times, it never really completely registered until that night.

It was late, and everyone was exhausted. Especially the boys because, well, yeah, they just did a two hour concert. Everyone was lounging around the hotel rooms, doing nothing but eating some pizza that was ordered for a little snack. Simone had just excused herself to go to her room, which she shared with Jessica and Avery, when Taylor met her in the hallway.

"Hey." he said, pulling on her hand. She turned around and smiled. The look in his eyes were so loving. She wanted to just lose track of all time and just stay there, and look into his eyes.

"What?" she asked. He leaned down the 3 inches that he was taller than her, and kissed her lips. "Have fun tonight?"

"Well, yeah, I did, but, tonight isn't over yet." Taylor said.

"But it's almost 1:00 in the morning. And you aren't allowed into my room, besides, I share it with your sisters." Simone said, wishing that they could be alone.

"Did you bring your swimming suit?" he asked, continuing to look into her eyes. Simone bit her lip, in thought.

"I think I did. Why?"

"Well, when we stay at a hotel, they always close the pool to the other customers, and let it be our little private thing." Taylor said. She smiled, then opened the door to her room.

"I'll be right out." I said, smiling, shutting the door behind me, then hurried over to my suitcase, rummageing around to find my swimming suit. I found it, my black bikini with little daisy's printed on it. I hurried and slipped it on, and then put my clothes on over top of it. When I opened the door to my room again, Taylor was still there, waiting for me to return.
