CHAPTER 7

She took a deep breath. "Tonight."

"Tonight?" Taylor questioned her again. She nodded.

Simone knew that it was the right thing to do. She loved Taylor and the more she thought about it, the more she realized that the only reason that her and Jonathan hooked up was because she was on rebound and she didn't have the courage to break up with him before. Now she had reason and motivation. She called him and asked him to come over that night.

Taylor and Simone had a little rendez-vu that afternoon before she had to prepare herself for Jonathan coming over. She took a deep breath, the rolled over in her bed and looked adoringly at Taylor. She reached up and caressed his bare arm. He opened his eyes and smiled.

"You don't have to leave soon, do you?" she asked him.

"Not really, but I should be getting back soon to finish out school. My mom is going to be slightly pissed that I stayed this long. I am going to have so much work to make up, and she'll probably pile on more work since I decided to stay longer than I told her I would." Taylor replied. Simone pouted.

"I don't want you to leave. I want you to stay with me."

Taylor leaned closer to her to kiss her. With his hands at the nape of her neck, he pulled her closer to him, and soon their bare bodies were skin against skin, and their kiss inclined.

She was so happy that she had enough privacy. Her parents worked almost nonstop and the only other person that would be in the way would be Randy, but Simone knew that he wouldn't be a problem. She had enough blackmail on him to keep him quiet.

As much as she didn't want to pull herself away from her bed, she knew that she had to. It was getting pretty close to 5:00, and Jonathan was coming over at 6:00. Simone didn't want to get all dressed up because there was nothing to get all dressed up about. She was going to break up with him, and she didn't need to be wearing anything fancy to do that.

She threw on a pair of jeans and a t shirt. Nothing spectacular. Although Taylor said she looked sexy, she disagreed, pulled her hair up in a ponytail and went downstairs to wait.

When the doorbell rang, Simone found butterflies in her stomach. Why was she so nervous? And knowing Jonathan, he would do stuff that would make her think twice about breaking up. She took a deep breath for reassurance and opened the door.

He was beaming. Simone put on her best fake smile and welcomed him in the house. She took his hand and led him to the living room. He looked at the direction of her bedroom, hinting what he wanted, but she shook her head.

"Jonathan, please listen to what I have to say." She said. He nodded. This was going to hit him, hard. "There's something that I've been keeping from you. I know that you are going to get pretty upset about it and upset at me, but I wouldn't feel right if I didn't tell you about it."

"What Baby, what is it? You seem pretty serious."

"Yeah, I guess you can say that it's serious." She took another deep breath. She couldn't do this. He's gonna hate her! But then she thought of Taylor and how she was doing this for them. "Okay...remember my friend Jordan from Ashna's party?"

"Yeah. What about him?" Jonathan asked.

"Well, I kinda led everyone to believe that he was my friend. The truth is, he's not my friend. He's my--"

"He's your brother! I knew it! For some reason, I sensed that he was from you're dad's first marriage. Well, I'm glad that you finally got to meet him. Do you get along well?" Jonathan said in an outburst. Simone sighed and hung her head. Then she looked up again. What a moron!

"No, he's not my brother. Jonathan, Jordan is Taylor."

"Taylor, like Taylor Hanson? You're ex?"

"Sorta, but not really. In a way, I guess you can say that Taylor's my ex. But when he showed up again, I realized that I never stopped loving him."

"So, what's that got to do with us?" he asked.

"Jonathan, listen to me. I love Taylor. See how that can stand in the way? Especially with him staying here, and I'm here, and we're alone a lot..."

His face lost all color. "You mean that...you cheated on me? With Taylor? Now what? Wait, don't answer that. I'll tell you now what. We're done. He accused you of cheating with me when you were together and you swore to him that you would never do anything like that. And now, I guess the situation is reversed. You disgust me. I thank you for telling me. Now I won't have to waste anymore of my time on you."

"But, Jonathan, I didn't mean for it to happen this way." Simone said. She knew that what she did was something horrible. She couldn't blame him for reacting this way. Of course it was natural for him to explode like this.

"What? Then what the hell did you want to happen?"

She hung her head low, and said in a small voice, "I don't know."

"Well, I'm not gonna stick around and wait to find out." He turned for the door. "Goodbye Simone, and I wish you two well." he said in a disgusted voice. He turned back to look at her one last time. Then the door slammed shut.
