Charles Monroe Northup was born on 16 Aug 1856 Gallia Co., Oh, the child of Stephen Monroe and Harriet Eliza (Gilbert) Northup Charles moved to Kansas from his family home in Gallia, Ohio. He married Sarah Ellen MC KENDRY on 4 Feb 1879 in Rooks Co., Ks. She was Born 19 Dec 1860 in Decatur, Adams, In. Her parents were John Alexander MC KENDRY and Rebecca Ann REYNOLDS. They had at least four known children before he died on 15 Oct 1883 in Rooks Co., Ks. He is buried at Woodson, Rooks, Ks. She was married twice after the death of Charles Monroe.
