Emma was born on 30 September 1877 at Oxford, Iowa, the daughter of Nathan Northup and Harriet Sherlock and died 10 September 1957 at the Friendship Home, Audubon, Iowa. She is buried at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Audubon, Iowa. She and her husband farmed for many years in Audubon County, IA.

Husband: EVERETT M. NORTON, died 15 November 1917 at the age of 45 and is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Audubon, Iowa. They were married on 20 March 1899. Children:
Ruby Mildred Norton, born 26 April 1900, Audubon, Iowa. Died in Silvis, Illinois on 27 November 1981. Married Ludwig (Louie) Petersen, on 31 December 1919. They had one child, Cleo, who was born 25 October 1921. She married George Chickris on 20 January 1943. They had one son, Greg Chickris, who was born 18 November 1950.
Harry Norton, born 20 September 1902 in Audubon, Iowa. Died 11 September 1907.
Vera Harriet Norton, was born 24 June 1904 in Audubon County, Iowa. She married John H. Pratt on 27 August 1928. Joanne E., their daughter, was born 10 June 1929.
Earl Everett Norton was born 13 March 1907 in Audubon, Iowa. Married Irene Fern Mickel on 04 August 1925. Their children are: Earl J. Norton, Jr., born 17 December 1927;Shirley Ann Norton, born 13 March 1931 and Marilyn Jean, born 17 December 1940.
