AUTHOR'S Note: Jeremiah and his brother Henry were Loyalists to the Crown, and Jeremiah apparently even moved to Nova Scotia to avoid the conflict in the family at the time of the Revolutionary War. He later moved back to Rhode Island, but many of his descendents live in Nova Scotia to this day.
