The Tualatin High Speech Team invites you to its annual Student Congress to

be held at 4:00 on Tuesday, October 30 at Tualatin High School, 22300 SW

Boones Ferry Road in Tualatin.

There will be separate rooms for Novice and Open Congress. Novice includes

anyone new to competitive speaking this school year. Ribbons with medals

will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each room. I am in need of

experienced Senators willing to chair the 3 or so Novice rooms we usually

have. I am also in need of 1 or two temp chairs for the Open Division

rooms. I have a couple of possibilities but I am open to your students

chairing. (They get 1-6 NFL points for each hour of chairing.) I need the

names with your registrations. Thank-you.

Registration can be done via fax, mail,or e mail. Phoning in the names is

discouraged. Registration is due on Monday by 3:30 p.m. Fax is

Food and drink will be sold during the 1/2 hour dinner break. There is no

fast food nearby and driving anywhere results in tardy Senators and Chairs.

Please have students bring sack dinners or buy pizza, bottled water, or pop

from our concessions table. We also have the typical vending machine fare.

We will have cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, and combination pizza and will

sell it by the slice.

Coaches will get free pizza and snacks in the Coaches Room--Room 13.

Registration is outside the speech room-103.

Judging: I am relying on you to provide a judge or two who will judge all

four hours or 1/2 of that depending on how many you all bring. Do Not send

a parent unless you have trained them to judge
