CHERYL FREDERICK KARDELL FLIGHT ATTENDANT MCI DEN Cheryl had a stroke Monday while in an Oral Surgeons office. She has been in the Hospital since Tuesday, and is now in Hospice care. I doubt she will last much longer. She is barely conscience but still recognizes me and her mother who is here from Carthage. Give my best to the old gang, we both miss KC very much, and those really, really, really, good ole days. Her final resting place will be in Lee's Summit. -Dick Kardell (10/3/06) Cheryl passed away last night about 11:30. She had been totally unresponsive for the last three days. As sad as I am, I feel relief that she is no longer suffering and is a better place. Please thank all our old friends for their Emails. The names brought back so many pleasant memories from the past. Thank you all for your support and prayers. Services will be held at the Cashner funeral home about Wednesday with final internment in Lees's Summit, Mo. -Dick Kardell (10/8/06) CHERYL L KARDELL 60 MONTGOMERY TX -US Search (10/8/06) C L KARDELL Seniority date 3/30/68 per the 2/1/86 FL/AFA seniority list. -Jake Lamkins (10/8/06) Cheryl was a sunny blonde who cheered me up every flight I ever flew with her. -Jake Lamkins (10/8/06) Cheryl was a native of Carthage MO and a fine, always-up person. -Frosty Frost (10/8/06) Thanks, Frosty. Did she go with another airline after FL? If so, was she still flying? -Jake Lamkins (10/8/06) I don't think she was still working at FAL when it shut down. Not sure but I think she quit not too long after she and Dick got married. Sorry I can't help more. They were living in the HOU area and Dick had said in a previous e-mail that the final resting place would be in Lees Summit MO. I'll keep an eye on the KC obits and the Joplin/Carthage ones if I can find any. -Frosty Frost (10/8/06) Email to Dick: Dear Dick, I am so sorry to hear about this. Tho I didn't know Cheryl well, I do remember very well how she made me feel when I non-reved a flight with her. She was always so cheerful and professional! My thoughts are with you during this difficult period. -Jake Lamkins Station agent 1964-86 (10/8/06) Jake, Thank you for your kind words and thoughts.
