BO DIDDLEY - The Originator

A Celebration of his unique contribution to Popular Music.

LADY BO - A Tribute

"Happy, Happy Birthday Baby..."

PEGGY JONES, Rock & Roll's First Lady Of Guitar, was born on Friday July 19th 1940, and grew up in the Sugar Hill district of New York City, USA.

We are indebted to the following family, friends, fellow musicians and fans of LADY BO for their contributions to this special 60th birthday tribute page.

"Yo Diddley Mama!! Happy Birthday.. All The Best..", Eric Burdon

"Happy 60th Peggy! You're still a babe and you still chank a mean guitar. Here's to many more funky years!!", Chip Benson (electric bass)

"Peggy, Happy Birthday to one of the world's most original singers, guitar player and individual. I've enjoyed getting to know you these past 20 years and I look forward to working with you in the future. You go girl !!!!! Love and Kisses", Thom Duell

"Happy Birthday, Peggy. Wishing you a wonderful B-Day with good food and good music. Take care", John Halbleib

"Happy 60 my Lady.....Say hi to Wally, hope to see you at the San Jose Jazz Festival in August", Joe and Alice

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SISTER, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. YOU FINALLY MADE IT. I WILL SAVE THE PERSONAL BIRTHDAY FOR PRIVATE TIMES -- I WOULDN'T WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT WHEN I WAS LITTLE, YOU USED TO BRAID MY HAIR SO TIGHT, MY EYES TO THIS DAY REMAIN SLANTED. I'LL SAVE THE OTHER TIDBITS FOR LATER", Patricia T. Jones

"Dear sis, It's with great pleasure that I have this opportunity to say how much you are loved and appreciated. Words cannot express the fun times we've shared in life. Without you I would not have had the opportunity to learn the benefits of counting backwards after the age of 40 yrs (tee hee hee).. Just one thing though, why does everyone still think that I'm older than you? Hum, hopefully when I turn 60 yrs old, I hope I can look as good as you!! Apart from the outside part, I love you for who you are inside; honest, sincere and a person of integrity. That woman, STILL continues to stand the test of time. Keep on keep'n on. Happy Birthday and many many more!! - Luv Tee", Patrina Jones

"Hey there LB...happy b-day!!! Can it possibly be 60? You've been a huge inspiration and influence for me since I saw you at the after hours gig at El Rancho in P.A. back in '71. (Don't think I was even legal then...had to sneak in even for "after hours"). You've been like family ever since, even took me in when I was reeling. Lots of gigs, lots of memories, LOTS of birthdays, lots of love. Here's to rockin' on for another 60...", Mykey B, RSVP Music Productions

"Lady Bo - A very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISH to you, and may there be many more! Best wishes, always", Eric Predoehl, director of the eventually-to-be-released MEANING OF LOUIE documentary, webmaster guru for LOUIELOUIE.NET

"Have a wonderful HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Peggy! All the very best. Love", Neil Sadler

"Happy 60th Lady Bo. You have given us so many good years of the best music in the Bay area. My husband and I have been listing to you for a long time. We try to make all your concerts, because we know you will be giving the best performance ever. We all love you and your music. God bless you always, and hopefully you will give us a lot more wonderful years of music. LOVE ALWAYS :)", Robert & Shirley Taylor

"Happy birthday to one of the greatest ladies I have ever known. My heart is filled with joy to have found you again, and filled with some sadness for all the lost years. Love", Kathy Vierra

"CONGRATULATIONS TO A SURVIVOR! A HUGE "THANK YOU" FOR THE JOY AND HAPPINESS YOU HAVE SPREAD THROUGH YOUR MUSIC AND BY BEING THE PERSON YOU ARE. MAY YOUR GREAT TALENTS GAIN EVEN GREATER RECOGNITION. HERE'S TO THE NEXT SIXTY! ALL THE VERY BEST", GEORGE R. WHITE + FAMILY

"It is a pleasure being your lifelong partner. Your extreme talent and musical abilities, both your guitar playing and voice have been an inspiration throughout our thirty plus years together. You're the best! Looking forward to our dinner on your special day and spending many more birthdays with you. Love", Wally (Mr. Lady Bo)

"The Lady Bo Birthday rap....

A person I've known since she was 16
playin the guitar was her ultimate dream
She met Bo Diddley in Washington DC
and she learned to play the guitar just like me
Now the lady I'm talkin' 'bout I want you to know
Happy Happy Birthday to you, Lady Bo

Your friend for life, BO DIDDLEY"

"To LADY BO...... May your beauty continue to radiate around the world, may your unique talent continue to delight and to entertain us, and may your achievements continue to receive the full recognition that they so richly deserve. You are, and always will be, Rock & Roll's First Lady Of Guitar. Lynn and I send you our warmest birthday wishes on this very special occasion", David Blakey, Webmaster
