Glossary:

Cki-Slightly derogatory term for a SKAN without a rankscar.

Hol-One rank below rasur.

I.t.-Identifying tattoo. This is always on the right cheek and usually black. It's usually the name of the lonil, nothing more, and is often used to tell SKAN apart from Outsiders.

Rankscar-A scar running from the left cheekbone to the corner of the jaw denoting rank. The more pronounced the scar, the higher the rank.

Rasur-One rank below vasari.

Syer-Fifth rank in SKAN society.

Vasari-The highest title available in SKAN ranking.

Yle-This is very hard to explain; suffice it to say that it's the highest sign of respect a SKAN can pay.
