Congratulations to all the CMA winners! What a night we had in Nashville. Here is my hometown views on what the artists had to offer us here in Music City. It was nice to see such a wide array of winners. Below is my take on some of the fashion statements seen in Nashville. After each review I give a rating of 1 to 10, with 1 being "Down right Degrading" and 10 being "Now that's Class!"

The Dixie Chicks:Wow! What a way to open the show. An excellent setting for the stage provided for an exceptional opening, but the trio took away from that with their outlandish attire. What were they thinking? They looked as if they were trying to combine the look of Scottish peasant with current day hobo. Their demeanor on stage gave the impression of drunken, non-intelligent hillbilly's and was a total disgrace and embarassment to Nashville. The ONLY thing these girls have going for them is their voices. Perhaps their vocal instructer shoud double as their wardrobe designer, because they obviously don't have any fashion sense! RATING: 1

Lonestar:They seemed to have lost their Country roots and opted for a more pop culture type of look. Still, decently dressed and in with style, these guys have it going on with the dramatic harmonies they belt out! Let's bring back the cowboy hats though. RATING: 7

Trisha Yearwood:Absolutly stunning! Trisha never ceases to amaze me. Her elegance and grace powered with a voice un-matched, makes her the epitomy of a true Country Queen. Always beautiful, always classy, we are proud to have talent such as this here in Nashville. RATING: 10

Alan Jackson:What a man! He has Country running all through his veins. His statuesque presence in tux was breathtaking, as was the fact that his band followed suit. His suprise salute to George Jones (un-known to the CMA directors) was awesome! Way to go Alan! You always make Nashville look it's best. RATING: 10

Martina McBride:She always looks good in a dress, but perhaps tonight a different one would have done her more justice. A darker shade of blue would have brought out her beautiful eyes, and perhaps showing a little less skin would have been a better choice. She's a beautiful woman, but seeing her rib cage protrude in her almost backless dress was a bit tasteless. Grow your hair back Martina! You look like a young man in drag now. RATING: 4

George Strait:Country's King! Classy, stunning, and breathtaking. He never needs flashy clothes, and he never has to change his look to go with the times. George = Country. Need I say more? RATING: 11!

Mary Chapin-Carpenter:Uggggggh! Looked like a street begger. No make-up, greasy hair and baggy clothes. Please! She has the opportunity to be a beautiful buxom woman, but chooses to look like a slob instead. RATING: 1

Brooks & Dunn:As always, hip hop and energetic, these guys have a Country flare all their own, but it's still Country! RATING: 9

Faith Hill & Tim McGraw:Country's favorite couple has wowed us again. Never a disappointment with these two. Always classy, always elegant, and always true to their Country spirit. These two are truly amazing! RATING: 10

SHeDAISY:Well, I gotta give ya an honest opinion here.....What the heck happened to them? I was VERY disappointed to see their choice of attire for their first CMA'S. They could have passed for the Dixie Chicks, as bad as I hate to say it. Kristyn looked as if she had pulled the lining from the inside of a coffin and draped it around her. Kelsi looked like she just got off work from the local butcher shop, still wearing her plastic apron and with hair that must have got caught in the meat grinder! But on the other hand, Kassidy looked lavish in her olive green dress. At least one of them has some fashion sense! I still love the girls and their music, but hope they get a grip on making a new fashion statement. If you're gonna sing Country, at least have the decency to dress Country on Country's biggest night! Good Grief! RATING: 1

Merle Haggard:Still looks great, even with age! What a nice treat to see him perform again. A Country Legend at heart! RATING: 10

Shania Twain:Who else can combine Classy, Country and Sexy and get away with it? As always, Shania proved she has what it takes. A beautiful woman with even more beautiful talent. It's about time she won a much deserving award, and what better way to start than with Entertainer of the Year? You Go Girl! RATING: 10

Vince Gill:Doesn't really matter what he wears. Vince always looks great! RATING: 10

Dolly Parton:Wow! She looks better and better with age! Always a Country favorite, it was nice to see her inducted to the Hall of Fame. She represents Country from beginning to end, and is one of the few female entertainers that has stayed true to her roots. RATING: 10

Overall:The Men of Country are for the most part keeping their Country heritage in music and in style. They always look great! The women on the other hand.....who is designing these clothes? And please, they need to take a few tips from Faith and Trisha. It seems to be the Women of Country that are giving it a bad rap, with their outrageous, pop culture attire!
