[Pagan Support Ring Purpose and Site Qualifications]
This ring is essentially for the development of a support system for pagan sites on the web needing financial or other aid. In creating this ring, we have noticed a chronic problem. It is not desire, for no one wants to go under. It is not need, for most sites do need. The problem is awareness, communication, and presentation.
Most surfers will not hunt to find a link pointing to how to make donations. Many do not even know of the need. When told of the need, out of a typical 10 people I have spoken with, 8 said they would be willing to donate funds. Most all said that they knew nothing of the need. So the premise of this ring is to bring this need to the attention of your thousands of visitors.
- Those sites that join this web ring should pass the following prerequisites:
- Wiccan, Witch, or Pagan Based.
- Non-Profit Based.
- Focused on outreach projects, education, and the promotion of protection of pagans, witches, and wiccans.
- Established site with a Domain Name. Sites based in Geocities, Tripod, or other such sites are excluded for the reason of these sites are mainly free and to some degree not dedicated to what this group is promoting.
- On the main page of each site, a link will be posted asking for financial aid. The link will need to be near the full width of the screen, with contrasting colors to the site to bring it attention.
- Within the link, the following will be listed or linked to: Expenses, Incomes, Bottom Line, to be updated quarterly. This is to show where the donations are going. Proof is a good way to draw attention. This is also to be kept in simple, conventional English. In order to communicate your dilemmas, you need to be understood.
- A form for donation and what the person donating will receive.
- A form for specific donation. Ie, For operating expenses, book sales, pamphlets, etc.
- A form for sponsorship, if the site has sponsorship, and what the sponsor will receive. $25 is often a baseline for sponsorship. This may be a good place to keep it.
- Links to other sites within this web-group.
- Inter-group support. As this is meant for a group-ring, it is meant to promote support from within the group-ring. Updates on other sites in trouble should be posted on each site. Many people will go to one site and stop there. Many do not know of other excellent sites and their problems. This site posting should be done as a request by the site needing aid, to the sites able to post.
- This group ring is not affiliated with Satanic, those following the Left Hand Path, or Darker groups. We, as a group, should disassociate ourselves from those particular paths. In order for us to survive, we do not need to encourage the negative publicity related to those paths.
