The Session Begins with the Party about 20 yards from the camp's gate, 5 Black Knights are in the van gaurd of a raiding force of around 100 Orcs being supported by a couple of wizards dresses in robes trimmed in scarlet... Von Sickly, The Adarian Officers in charge of the outpost shouts "Charge...to me!" Crown Prince Roland draws his knife and charges into battle...
Kelvin heads off at an angle in an attempt to flank the Black Knights...
Coltazar begins chanting a Mass Sleep spell...
Escolad the Elf begins chanting a Lightning Bolt spell...
Rubix the Elf draws an arrow and aims his Long Bow at one of the enemy wizardsThe Black Knights cut down several of the Adarian Legionaires and push forward only to be met by Von Sickle, Crown Prince Roland, Kelvin and the rest of the camp's Legionaires.
Escolad's Lightning spell strikes the 1st Black Knight's sword blade, causing the Knight to drop the smoking blade, Roland takes advantage of his the opening and thrusts his knife between layers of the Knight's Heavy Plate Mail Armor slaying the Black Knight, both Roland and Von Sickle charge into the middle of the on rushing Orcs slaying them as they press forward....
Kelvin manages to wound another of the knights wkile avoiding the return blows and with aid from a couple of Adarian Legionaires dispatch him...
Rubix fires his arrow at one of the mages and his arrow seems to fly true until it is defected at the last minute by an invisible barrier....
Coltazar casts his Mass Sleep sleep on the Orcs, putting roughy a third of them into a magical sleep....
One of the enemy wizards casts a spell upon his staff and strikes down the other enemy wizard from behind, and then just stands there with a far away look in his eyes...the Orcs seeing that two of the 5 Black Knights have fallen, that one of the mages has fallen and the other is standing there useless, more than a third of their number magically asleep or dead and without having yet inflicted serious harm upon the Adarian Legion's camp lose their will to fight and rout....
The remaining Black Knights are quickly surrounded and killed by the Adarian warriors with no quarter asked nor offered....
Von Sickle and the Adarian Legionaires begin slaying the sleeping orcs, while Roland continue forward to the enemy Wizards, he uses the pommel of his knife to knock-out the remaining Wizard, quickly ties him up.
Rubix turns into a Giant Eagle and flys off to watch the Orcs retreat. Kelvin pulls up the visor of one of the Black Knight's helms and discovered that the only remains of the Black Knights was a stinking glob of a black tar like substance....Kelvin picked up the Knight's broadsword and quick drop it retreating saying "Vile...Evil...Alive..."
Roland suddenly passes out and falls on top of his mage captive. The party rushes forward and removes Roland from the enemy wizard. Roland wakes and throws up, after he regains his composure he pulls his knife and cuts the helpless wizard's throat before anyone can prevent it...
Roland and Kelvin get into a bit of a disagreement about the treatment of captives when suddenly Roland's eyes take on a glassy look and then his facial features, his eyes with an unfocused, distant look and his voice changes and is deeper, and more hollow sounding as he says...
"You have one a minor battle, but the final victory SHALL BE MINE!"
As the party draws their weapons, Roland blinks a couple of times, focuses his eyes, rubs his temples as he has the worst hang-over he has ever had and wonders why everyone is looking at him like they have seen a ghost or something...Von Sickle provides the party with remounts and asks them to leave his outpost, Kelvin gets into a disagreement with an old off duty trooper from the garrison and ends up in a fisticuts match in which the old trooper offers to let Kelvin take the first punch "...as it'll likey be your last." Kelvin refuses the offer and allows the old trooper the first blow which the old trooper greatfully accepts....
Roland makes a bet with Rubix taking the old trooper and giving Rubix 2 to 1 odds for 500 Silver crowns...
The Old Trooper feints with his right setting Kelvin up with a left jab that Kelvin never saw coming....Kelvin is knocked-out cold on the perfectly landed jab doing the maximum possible damage...
As Kelvin is tied over his mount, Roland takes his winnings from Rubix and gives them to the Old Trooper who greatfully accepts....the Old Trooper informs Roland of a Cave about five miles to the East that is large enough for the Party and their mounts and is defendable....
The Party mounts and rides for the cave....
