Pen and Scroll's TRUE CRIME Page.
DO YOU PREFER YOUR DETECTIVE NOVELS TO BE HARDBOILED, OR SOFT?
Whether you prefer to write or read True Crime Non-Fiction, or Detective
Novels, you'll be able to choose from the classics such as, "The Hounds of the Baskervilles",
or the modern John Douglas books, such as, "Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit".
Technology now often plays a large part in criminal activity. If you think about it though, the simple magnifying
glass was considered to be new technology at one time. What would Sherlock Holmes make of our
modern genetic analyses, or our satellite systems?!?! No doubt, he would be solving even more complex
cases with panache and finess.

Recently I discovered the "TRUE CRIME" section of my favorite bookstore. I
LOVE IT! Whether it deals with big city crime, or successful investigations of a
local smaller town nature, I AM SOLD! I also like to read about similar topics in
fiction. I think the detectives of yesteryear are so much fun, with their predictable
trenchcoats, unique jargon words, and quests to outsmart the bad guys. I hope that
you too will find the features of this page enjoyable, and possibly useful.

True Crime Links
Some of my favorite crime related links involve serious, real-life tragedy. I believe the internet can be used for educational, and positive purposes, towards the prevention of future tragedy. Maybe these websites will be informative and helpful.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children: Among other things, this website helps visitors to learn about how we can better protect our children from crime. It lets us know where children became separated
from their parents, what they looked like, and what their names are. Have you seen these children?
The Polly Klaas Foundation: The Polly Klaas Foundation's goals, are to find missing children, prevent child abduction, and to educate the public.
National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime: Interesting site concerning the apprehension of violent serial offenders.
