*life's for my own to live my own way*

how charming...

Most people don't believe me when I say I like Metallica. It pisses me off sometimes. Like, I'll be at a music expo looking through Met bootlegs or imports and the person (usually a guy) running the booth will come up and say "Like Metallica, huh?" and I swear to God it's like, what do you want me to say? "Oh yeah, I just got their first album, y'know, the all black one? I love it!" or "My favorite song is Enter Sandman!" Plah! And it's not like I like metal music in general. I like Metallica, Megadeth, and some Black Sabbath but that's it. I don't really have an interest in metal music.

My sister Raven kinda got me into Metallica. The summer when I was thirteen, I hung out with her a lot and she was constantly playing "Youthansia" (the whole album) by Megadeth so by the end of the summer, I liked Megadeth......hehe, at this point in my life, if you asked me what my favorite groups were I'd probably say: "TLC, Megadeth and Paula Abdul." or something like that. It was cool. So as Megadeth fans, we'd poke fun at Metallica and such until later that year she go into them. Grr....so all I heard for 4 months was the Black album, which I didn't like as much as Youthansia. Then that summer, I heard (and saw) "Until it Sleeps" and it just blew me away. I bought Load, then Black and bummed all of my sisters Metallica tapes. Got and Justice for All, A Year and a Half In the Life of Met, started buying imports/bootlegs and my darling mother (teehee) bought me Live Shit. Then i kinda went into a different cycle, i don't even remember what I was listening to. But after seeing them at the Shoreline Ampitheatre, I was like: "Oh my God....I love this band!" So I've kinda been listening to the nonstop over the last 6 months. And I don't think I'm going to stop this time. Oh yeah, and I adore Jason Newsted. I have a weakness for bassplayers and he's one of the best....and he's cute.

Jason Newsted.

I'm not an angry person, not most of the time. I'm generally happy. I listen to Metallica when I'm happy, when I feel like murdering people, when I'm cleaning the house, when I'm doing trig homework...etc. I think that's why I'm not really a poseur fan, I can listen to both Load and Ride the Lightning and get the same groove out of both of them. I like the slow songs and the fast ones and the inbetweens because they all give me the same feeling, it's kinda hard to explain.

Never free, never me.

Some of my favorite songs by Metallica:

Unforgiven 2
Harvester of Sorrow
