i'm nearly great but there's something missing...



U2 is my ultimate - no - contest - all - time - favorite band. I have been listening to them for three years now. It may not seem like a long time but it's been forever for me. I adore them. They are the band I spend the most money on, the one I listen to when I'm happy, sad, bored, cleaning my room, or trying to do my homework. Every lyric and every note is etched in my mind. I swear, if it weren't for Achtung Baby, I wouldn't have passed my 8th grade algebra class.



The first time I can remember hearing U2 was back in the day when my local hip-hop rap station played Mysterious Ways. I liked it back then and I still like it now. Then, in the summer of 95, I heard Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me, and although I was a rap junkie at the time I adored the song and the video (With my hero, MacPhisto!) I soon stole my sisters copy of Achtung Baby and was *gone*. Three years pass and here I am, still listening to them. It was hard, to adore them in a time when everyone thought they had broken up or something but I stood by it. They got me out of the rap rut and got me into alternative and rock music. Goddess bless them! 



I don't even know where to begin with how U2 has changed my life. I'm just in a whole other state of mind now. Their music and action opened me up to so many other things. They gave me eyes in a moon of blindness....a river in a time of dryness...a harbour in the tempest....
