Phoenix Vineyards Takes Home Several Medals In 1999

The wines of Phoenix Vineyards garner a bevy of medals in 1999 in wine competitions throughout the state of California, including a Best Of Class award.

In early June the wine judging was conducted at the 1999 Orange County Fair. At this competition the Phoenix Vineyards 1997 "Little Blackbird" Napa Valley Merlot was awarded a Silver Medal. Just a few weeks later, in the last weekend of June, judges at the 1999 San Francisco International Wine Competition chose 2 Phoenix wines for medals. The 1997 Napa Valley "Blood of Jupiter" Sangiovese was given a Silver Medal while a Bronze Medal was earned by the 1998 Napa Valley Pinot Grigio.

That very same weekend the judging at the 1999 California State Fair took place. The 1997 "Little Blackbird" Napa Valley Merlot took home a Bronze Medal while the 1997 "Blood of Jupiter" Napa Valley Sangiovese was given a Bronze Medal and the further distinction of Best Of Class Of Region (Best 1997 Napa Valley Sangiovese).
