1/4 cup shortening | 2 tsp paprika |
2 lbs stew beef cut in 1" cubes | 1/2 tsp dry mustard |
1 cup sliced onion | Dash cayenne pepper |
1 garlic clove, crushed | 1 1/2 cups water |
3/4 cup ketchup | 1/4 cup water |
2 Tblsp Worcestershire Sauce | 2 Tblsp flour |
1 Tblsp brown sugar | 3 cups hot cooked noodles |
Melt shortening in large skillet. Add meat, onion and garlic; cook and stir until beat is brown and onion is tender. Stir in ketchup, Worcester- shire sauce, sugar, salt, paprika, mustard, cayenne and 1 1/2 cups water. Cover; simmer 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Blend flour and 1/4 cup water. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Add flour/water mixture. Boil and stir 1 minute. Serve over noodles. |
