Who    is    KoRn?

KoRn is:

Jonathan Davis - Vocals "Head" (Brian Welch) - Guitars "Munky" (James Shaffer) - Guitars "Fieldy" (Reggie Arvizu) - Bass David Silvera - Drums

KoRn is a five person hardcore band from Southern Califonia whose sound is unique to them. Rather than screaming and making noise as loudly as possible, they use their talents to express their feelings on sexual abuse, the cruelty of high school, and painful personal experiences. They were orignially signed on the Immortal/Epic record label and recorded two albums - Life is Peachy and the Self titled KoRn, but KoRn has a voracious appetite for music and they decided to start their own record label - Elementree.

KoRn is set apart from others in a number of ways: Jon's range of voice - very emotional to a low roar, The incorporation of Bagpipes and Nursery Ryhmes into a few of their songs, the re-making of Ice Cube's Wicked and the ever popular Lowrider, Korn has earned their success the old-fashioned way through tireless touring, street-level self-promotion, and constant, direct contact with their growing legion of fans,"The coolest thing about this band is we've stayed underground and our fans are still so true," notes singer Jonathan Davis, also Korn was the first band on the Internet and to conduct an interactive radio broadcast during which fans got a sneak preview of Life Is Peachy; saw and heard the band play several of their new songs live, and phoned in questions via an 800 number. KoRn has their own series KoRn TV (http://www.korntv.com).

Prior to the founding of KoRn, Reggie Arvizu, James Shaffer, and David Silvera were in a band called LAPD, which reformed as Creep soon after Brian Welch joined because they needed a second guitarist. Meanwhile, Jonathan was the lead singer in Sex Art. KoRn was formed in 1993 when James and Brian were at a Sex Art show, James and Brian offered him a tryout, soon after he left he mortuary. Creep changed its name to KoRn and signed on to Epic in 1994, recording their self titled debut - KoRn.

"Got The Life" was released on Monday 10th in the UK and got a review similar to 5 stars (KKKKK) from Kerang! magazine.
