FRANK RINGEL

Funeral services for Frank Ringel, 69, a retired Sheboygan barber who was killed when hit by a truck at S. 14th and Indiana late Thursday morning, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapel.

The Rev. Delman D. Thiesse, pastor of Bethany Reformed Church, will officiate, with burial in Wildwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral chapels after 5 p.m. today.

Mr. Ringel, of 1334 Indiana Ave., the city's first pedestrian traffic fatality of 1970, was struck down by a United Parcel Service truck driven by Larry Skoog, 24, of 1220-A S. 8th St.

Mr. Ringel, prior to retirement, had been in barber trade here for many years. At one time he operated a shop at N. 17th and Michigan.

A native of Sheboygan, he was born April 20, 1901, a son of the later Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Ringel.

He was confirmed in Zion United Church of Christ and attended Horace Mann Elementary School.

Mr. Ringel married Miss Cora Cevaal here on Sept. 6, 1923. She died in March, 1960.

Surviving are three sons, Donald, Richard and Kenneth, all of Sheboygan, six daughters, Miss Charlotte, Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Fred (Corona) Barthels, Mrs. Joseph (Caroline) Vrubley, Mrs. Frank (Betty) Konz and Mrs. Carl (Joyce) Meggers, all of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Eugene (Marian) Heinen, Oostburg, and 22 grandchildren.

He is also survived by five sisters, Mrs. William Steinert, Plymouth, Mrs. Hattie Dippold, Covina, Calif., Mrs. Carrie Swalve, Torrence, Calif., Mrs. Milda Mayer, Anaheim, Calif., and Mrs. Melda Davidson, Grant's Pass, Ore.

Two sisters preceded him in death.
